Ensure your pet is safe and healthy while you're away by boarding them at our clinic.
Having Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic look after your pet while you are out of town or on vacation has several advantages.
Benefits to boarding your pet with us
Your pet will be comfortable in our kennel facilities, where they are cared for by staff hired and trained specifically to handle the needs of kenneled animals. The staff not only feed, water, exercise and play with your pets, they watch for signs or symptoms of health problems such as lethargy, loss of appetite, changes in stool, vomiting, coughing or discharges from eyes and ears.
You can be assured that should your pet have any health issues, a veterinarian who knows your pet and has access to their health records is on hand to examine and care for them. This level of care is especially important for pets that are older or have chronic health issues.
As a professional veterinary clinic, we recognize that cleanliness and good hygiene in our kennel is the key to preventing the spread of illness among animals. We require that all pets cared for in our kennel are current on required vaccinations and intestinal parasite screening, and are also free of fleas and other parasites. Any overdue services will be required to be updated in order to be admitted into our facility. As an extra precaution, we require all pets be 6 months of age or older.
We can pamper your pet while he or she stays with us
While your pet is with us, we can, at your request, take care of routine health needs. When you drop off your pet, we ask that you bring any special foods or treats, and all medications. We provide bowls and bedding for your pet that will be refreshed twice daily. Pets who are being boarded at our kennel can be picked up and dropped off during regular business hours.
Tours are available upon request.
Our in-house, full-service pharmacy provides our clients many benefits.
Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic’s full-service pet pharmacy offers many benefits for our clients. When you and your pet leave our clinic, be assured that your prescription has been filled correctly and to your vet’s specifications.
By having your pet’s prescriptions filled at our pharmacy, you ensure that our veterinarians have a record of your pet’s medications at their fingertips, which is important as new medications are prescribed or as dosages of existing prescriptions are adjusted.
Within our pharmacy, we stock the majority of the medications we prescribe, and when we do need other medications, we can turn to partners like Vets First Choice and large veterinary pharmacies that we work with regularly.
What are my options for prescription refills?
Realizing our clients have busy lives, we try to make getting prescription refills as simple as possible. We offer several options. You can call our office at 859-263-5037 or visit your pet’s online portal and request a refill. We do our best to have those refills ready within 30 minutes.
By ordering medications through our in-house pharmacy, safety and accuracy are ensured. All our medications are FDA-approved and are purchased from reputable manufacturers who guarantee their products.
